Representing Camp Culinary and Hospitality Workers since 1944

In the early days our Union represented Bartenders and Servers and we were the Bartenders Union Local 579. The Union then evolved to represent Hotel, Restaurant and Bar workers and we were known as the Hotel Employees Restaurant Employee International (HERE) Union Local 47.  Currently we are a Union that represents several thousand Camp Culinary and Hospitality workers throughout Alberta.

The Officers Albert Amire, President/Administrator, Bill Franklin, Vice President and Yassine Kobrosli, Secretary-Treasurer and the Executive Board of UNITE HERE Local 47 are dedicated to our Members, Contractors, Clients and our Guests. Our Union is affiliated with the Building Trades of Alberta, the Alberta Federation of Labour, the Canadian Labour Congress, the AFL-CIO and many Labour Councils throughout Alberta.

It is our continuing goal to provide good jobs with fair wages and benefits for our members and to make our contractors and clients proud and make sure our guests are satisfied. UNITE HERE Local 47 members care about our guests and work hard to make sure they have nutritious meals and a comfortable clean place to live when they are away from home.

In July of 2012 we purchased a property to become our new office in Edmonton that will also become a state of the art training centre. Through our training centre we are committed to providing the best trained Camp Culinary workers in Alberta to service all the needs of our signatory contractors.
